R/VISION - successful innovation fund application

RUSH and Downer NZ are thrilled to have been named as one of the 15 applications (out of 94!) in round two of the Waka Kotahi Hoe ki Angitu Innovation Fund.

This round asked applicants to respond to three key challenges:

- Making roadworks safer for workers and other road users
- Reducing the impact of increased freight in urban environments
- Improving safety and efficiency for people using different modes of transport in the same space

‍

Our grant will allow further development of R/VISION, an existing tool for use at temporary traffic management sites, combining portable hardware, artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision to alert contractors and the public of risks in real time to achieve safer and smarter roadworks.
